Guru Nanak Dev Ji                                         Guru Gobind Singh Ji

Sikhism is one of the world's youngest and fastest growing religions. It was born over 500 years ago in the land of Punjab, India. The founder of Sikhism was Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji who had nine other human successors ending with Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji. The last and eternal Guru is the Sri Guru Granth Sahib which is the Sikh holy book. Over the last century millions of Sikhs moved away from their ancestral homeland of Punjab to various other nations all over the world. The largest concentrations of Sikhs outside India are in the West. They live in countries such as the United States, Canada, the European Union and the United kingdom. The Sikhs are a hard working and peace loving people who always contribute positively to whichever society they live in. This website's aim is to explain the religion of Sikhism, the Sikh people, their history and their culture to non-Sikhs and others, so that they may have a better understanding of it. Sikhism is a religion which teaches human beings to treat each other with love and respect and to regard one another as members of their own family. It encourages people to live together in peace and harmony regardless of race, religion, culture or nationality. It is also a very democratic faith where the will of the people comes first. Sikhism truly is a universal religion.
